As part of NECHE’s 2023 Annual Meeting, the Commission is seeking proposals from our members for concurrent sessions.
The NECHE 2023 Annual Meeting will take place Wednesday, December 6 through Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston, MA.
There are typically between 400 and 500 attendees at the Annual Meeting. Many of the concurrent sessions are led by participants from NECHE’s member institutions. This year, we are inviting member institutions to submit either a multi-institution concurrent session proposal or a single institution panel participant proposal for inclusion on this year’s agenda.
We invite you and your colleagues to review the criteria and guidelines below and to submit either a multi-institution concurrent session proposal or a single institution panel participant proposal. The proposal deadline is April 21, 2023. The details and submission process for each type of proposal submission are below:
Proposal Criteria
The proposal process is competitive. Priority will be given to proposals that:
- connect the topic to one or more of the Standards for Accreditation;
- demonstrate practices that have been proven effective, are advanced beyond the planning stage, and address the challenges and obstacles encountered—not just the successes;
- highlight current work, fresh viewpoints and curricular or institutional innovations;
- explicitly address and encourage translation or adaptation to other institutional settings and include information on how-to start/organize/implement the initiative;
- include significant audience engagement and participation.
As you consider possible ideas for a proposal submission, we encourage you to review the list of priorities[1] identified by the U.S. Department of Education. You can also review the agenda from last year’s Annual Meeting to get a sense of the variety of session topics.
